This team stinks. Worse than almost any other iteration of the Dolphins I can remember. The 1-15 Cam Camaroon's played with more heart. The Flores "Tank" season seemed to inspire a lousy roster to play for pride. 2024 may be the darkest depths I've seen from this putrid franchise yet. Calling this a Dumpster fire would be an insult to Dumpsters. And fire. Our season ended in week 2. Week 2. For the foreseeable future I'm going to root for this team to lose. Every game. Burn. It. All. Down.
The damage is already done and the ship has sunk. The only way out now is to build a new ship. Let's start with a quality shipbuilder. Maybe one who isn't as interested in building a multi-media empire in South Florida, isn't more interested in possessing those sweet, sweet F1 dollars and focused on football. Ok, really there's not much we can do there. Ross owns the team, he can't be forced to sell, we may be stuck already. Or sunk........I digress.
Next we need a captain and first mate. Ok, I'm done with the ship analogy now. FIRE CHRIS GRIER. Yesterday, He has been an albatross around this team for 9 years. Mistake after mistake. Still not worried about the O-line Chris? Please choke on those words. First round draft pick Noah Igbinoghene? You lost a bet right? Or maybe your Fantasy Football team came in last place and it was a punishment? I don't know who to replace him with but a monkey throwing poop at a list of names might hit on more draft picks than Grier.
Napoleon McD...er, Mike McDaniel's seat should be so hot right now his joggers are smoldering. He may be a "genius" at designing plays but for the love of god he can't call them. They need to find a solution to that now. Actually three weeks ago but who's counting? Why for the love of all that's holy we gave this guy an extension in year 2 of a 3 year contract is beyond me. He didn't deserve it yet. And he certainly doesn't deserve it now.
Truthfully I was a fan at first. Now I'm an angry pitchfork wielding townsperson.
I'm half expecting him to pull off his mask and it's Adam Gase. Who then pulls off his mask to reveal it's Joe Philbin. It's all making sense now.
Tua. Oh man, Tua. I was not a Tua guy. Not happy when we drafted him. Not happy now. He should not have seen a football field the year he was drafted. I can't fathom why you would put a guy who almost had his leg torn off a year prior out on an NFL field. Ok, I can fathom it. Asses in seats are priority numero uno in the NFL. Hindsight being 20/20 they didn't do him any favors. Or the franchise. He seems like a decent dude. I really hope he chooses to retire. Take your money and enjoy your life. Saves us the trouble of dragging it out a few more season before they have to pull the plug, ala Ryan Tannehill.
There's nothing left to do but sell off the parts and start over. I'm not even sure how to do that. We have a roster filled with over priced, over the hill players who no one is going to be eager to pick up the tab on. The rebuild was a failure. Last year was the chance but whatever bad mojo that was cast in the Titan's game has pervaded this garbage can of a team since.
Everything has to be rebuilt. The O-Line, the QB. A backup QB. My god, why are they allergic to a quality backup? And tight ends. WHAT DO THEY HAVE AGAINST TIGHT ENDS? Did a TE steal Grier's girlfriend in high school?
And defense. Did we really give up AVG for Jordan Poyer? SMH.
So the cycle begins again, 3 to 5 years of rebuilding to maybe back into a playoff game. The doom loop repeats.
Anyway, thanks for coming to my rambling, psychotic Ted Talk.
