Reason for making this item

[edit]

The primary reason for creating this item was a practical one. Until now, the items Wikimedia disambiguation page (Q4167410) and Wikimedia list article (Q13406463) said that these kind of pages are instances of (property P31) Wikimedia project page (Q14204246). However, the present description of Wikimedia project page (Q14204246) says that this item applies to the project namespaces of the several Wikimedia sites, like Wikipedia: and Help: and Template:. Disambiguation pages and list articles belong to the main namespace, the real encyclopaedia. So I wanted to change these properties.

Besides this, I think that this item would be notable on Wikidata anyway, since Wikipedia articles are what the whole Wikimedia universe started with. :-) Bever (talk) 01:35, 8 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I do not really like the label as it seems to include all items that have sitelinks to Wikipedia main namespace. But items like Universe (Q1) should not be included here, as these pages refer to real world entities as opposed to Wikimedia only entities like templates, Wikimedia list etc. Beside, the main namespace requirement does not really work, as Spanish Wikimedia list are usually in a separate namesapce. I think we would be better off with not considering the namespace issue at all here, and make both lists and disambiguation pages subpages of Wikimedia internal item (Q17442446). --Zolo (talk) 11:51, 29 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]
