No news of the new album yet... supposedly it was out in July, and here we are lol. At least they're touring, so good for those who can see them.

I don't care how ridiculed they were back then (and still are by some). This stuff is fun, if overproduced. These guys had amazing musicianship and as a man even I can't deny that Kip Winger was a handsome dude. I feel like that recipe should've been the perfect recipe for drawing both male (music) and female (looks) fans. Sadly a stupid cartoon, grunge and Lars Ulrich ruined them.

Glam-o-mania rating: 3,5 / 5. The mix is too slick and the Hendrix cover is kinda meh (I love the original), otherwise I like all the songs, with a few being standouts. "Heading For A Heartbreak" is one of few sappy glam ballads I really like.

They have newer stuff that's a bit more proggy-hard rock oriented. Kip Winger also studied music composition as the genre his band played declined, he recently wrote a musical about Jack the Ripper and Conversations with Nijinsky, a nod to classical music. Winger was kinda goofy and over the top in the way many of these bands were, but the musical talent can't be denied, definitely above Tuff, Pretty Boy Floyd and other late attempts at hair metal. It's true that their top hit is cheesy-creepy, and derivative of Van Halen to a degree, but I think many of their other songs are worth a shot, at least to avoid dismissing them quickly.

I have 2 acoustic ones, from Dean and La Patrie (Canadian manufacturer) and 3 electric ones: Les Paul Custom Ebony Gold Hardware, Music Man Luke III (I will sell it and switch to the John Petrucci Majesty 6 PN) and an Ibanez RG-8 Fanned Fret Iron Label... Takamine are making very good acoustic guitars too. Just like Dean, Guild or La Patrie.
