That was written by an obvious normie with a primative entry level understanding and knowledge of true emo."'Real Emo' only consists of the dc Emotional Hardcore scene and the late 90's Screamo scene." Absolutely fucking wrong.1. If the implicating is that Emo is exclusive to the DC scene that was happening in the 80's, and that emo is EXCLUSIVE to that region on earth, then no. Emo may have had its inception there but anyone who truly knows emo knows that the genre quickly spread EVERYWHERE, even outside of the US to other continents. The second implication is that real emo is exclusive to the sound that bands were playing in those early days (e.g Rites of Spring, Embrace, Moss Icon etc etc) and no, absolutely fucking wrong. Emo was a genre that once planted its seed quickly grew and evolved. Which is why the band "After words" sound different from rites of spring, which is why the band Chino Horde sound different from After Words, which is why Indian Summer sound VERY different.

Wouldn't this tag have pretty much everything that's not emo? Like Megadeth or Iron Maiden or even fucking One Direction?

koholintisland, Megadeth and Yngwie are about as far away from hair metal as possible. If you think "metal artists with hair = hair metal", you're as stupid as the people who say black veil brides are emo.

Rites of Spring, Gospel, Envy, Leatherface, Pageninetynine and other actual emo bands are a lot better than this shitty collection of cheesy pop punk.

\/ OMG You newbie! Emo stands for Emotional hardcore, a particular style of post-hardcore and indie rock that started in the Revolution Summer of 1985 D.C. and was dead by 2002, that's where you posers influenced by the mainstream media and its [dis]information which don't know how to even type entered to a formerly unknown scene and started to fuck everything! Not every music is emo, actually a very little contemporary scene can still be described as emo. Bands as Matchbook Romance and Look Mexico maybe, the survivors of the D.C. and 90's emo scene, and some bands of the same style of the latter ones but even more underground.

"both MCR and Fall Out Boy as not emo?, yeah......" they're not even close. listen to old school appleseed cast or planes mistaken for stars and educate yourself.

seriously, i don't know how any of these bands were confused with emo in the first place. i enjoy some of these bands, but they can't be called emo the way appleseed cast and american football were

It's funny to read what the people who have no idea what emo really is have to say.

@Richochet92 No, on "emo" tag radio you get some emo bands occasionally and I don't think you do on this.
