i realize there are other artists that are just as prolific or even more prolific, but the question is, do i want to listen to them, and am i going to like them

Well, Afterlifeliness delivers! After 20+ albums, to sound as envigorating as this band, is next to impossible! How do Peavy finds strength to carry on is beyond comprehension.

This band should seriously stop releasing albums year after year, the formula is always the same. A break and at least 3 years to release would be better to achieve more creativity and be less saturated with such a flood of unnecessary efforts.

Yeah, agreed. I heard news some years ago that Rage were disbanding and imagine my surprise when I saw a new album of theirs! Long live Rage!

Я просто в ахуе как после стольких лет и такого количества альбомов можно оставаться в такой охуительной форме! Красавцы мужики 💪

I wonder if Rage Against the Machine originally wanted to be called Rage and then realized that other bands called Rage existed, so they added in Against the Machine for their band name.

Ah okay, I guess they simply wanted to be Rage Against the Machine and then never thought about simply being called Rage. A lot of people refer to RATM as "Rage" and that's incorrect. Anytime you mention Rage, I always think of the German heavy metal band.

Me too know that Rage is the german band but 99% on my country would go for RATM and never heard about Peavy Wagner.

I feel the need to rant, I love Rage, but... does anyone find the albums have too many songs and drag? Especially the newer ones like Seasons of the Black and The Devil Strikes Again. An album for me needs to be around 40-60mins. Those new ones are 1hr15 in some cases

It's not just the new albums. Most Rage albums have 16+ songs and are over an hour. I personally like it because more songs for me to enjoy :)

Peavy (bassist/singer) is a legend to have such a large and diverse discography that is unbelievably consistent with good riffs and catchy choruses; all while having numerous lineup changes in their almost 40 year career.

I strongly disagree. Smolski's period was the best. He brought the musicianship the band always lacked before and now also lacks after. Best times are 95-2010 (yes, some years before his arrival are included)

I agree with BurningRemnant. I really like the exciting and playful sounds he brought. But they remain quite good after he left.

Probably the most consistent metal act in history of metal, under the roof of one mind - Peavy Wagner's.... Or maybe after Mark Shelton's - Maniila Road, not sure.

Finally, but maybe too late. I really like Victor's guitar playing and admire his contribution to the history of Rage, but Rage's power and originality have been always coming from the line-up changes. And to be honest, Speak of the Dead was their last album with sparks of originality and passion, from this point onwards, they were recording the same album over and over again. I hope some young blood recovers something from Peavy's original creative touch, something that would make another "alternative" power metal album, true follow-up to the ones they were creating in 90's.
