This is a biographical limited series of Brazilian F1 champion Ayrton Senna da Silva (Gabriel Leone). Laura Harrison (Kaya Scodelario) is the half-Brazilian reporter who follows career from the early days.
Ayrton Senna is a Brazilian national hero and an F1 legend. I know nothing about the first and only a little of the second. My era is more prime Schumacher. F1 has never been my sport, but the cars are cool. Certainly, I don't know about any controversies in this movie or any accuracy debate. It does mostly take his side of the story. The first three episodes are good underdog sports story. The last three are more bumpy. The last one has great potential to be even better. I don't know if Xuxa generates enough drama. His last girlfriend gets a strange quick scene. Laura Harrison is an obvious fake character and that's fine. I would like her to be less obvious. All in all, this is a good standard sports biography.

In a racially divided Halifax, former boxer Donnie Rose (Rossif Sutherland) gets paroled after ten years in prison. George (Danny Glover) is the father of his victim who was beaten to brain damage. During the last few years, Donnie had stopped his violence and racial anger. He returns to a hero's welcome and a party with his racist family. Professional boxer Ossie Parris (Flex Alexander) decides to get revenge by challenging him to a boxing match. Despite acrimony from both sides of the racial divide, Donnie and George form an unlikely partnership.
This is a Canadian indie. As a boxing movie, it isn't that much. In the end, this is not really a sports movie. It is more about forgiveness, acceptance, and racial tolerance. Even more interestingly, it delves into the racially divided world of Halifax. There are moments of real power, but the movie is a bit too meandering. Rossif is too passive although I do get the acting choice. The pacing has too many slow spots. As for the ending, I like the starting move, but I didn't like where it goes. There is a lot to like in this.

After a month in Hollywood, Libby Caruso (Connie Francis) abandons her singing aspirations to go look for a husband. She is taken with Paul Davis (Jim Hutton) at first sight. He works with her roommate Jan McNair (Susan Oliver) and they hate each other. Libby has a great unusual idea and Paul puts her on The Tonight Show.
The premise is dated, but it is interesting for that reason. Connie Francis may be a great singer, but I don't see her as a rom-com gal. She powers through her comedy work, but it only makes it less funny. One of the other interesting premise is the use of The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. It's fun to see this version of Johnny. Connie Francis does some good singing and that's it.
