Where do I begin? Was it the nostalgia for 1980's horror fun or the perfect casting of that Grillo guy? I've seen Grillo from couple Bruce Willis films, and a popular TV Series called Tulsa King. This is nothing like the purge sequels, this is more on werewolves side of things. I went into this wanting a throwback 80's style werewolve horror such as The American WEREWOLF in london and those 90's action horror movie. The movie delivered on that frosty the WEREWOLVE. There some plotholes in this one, but it was still fun. This at least warrants a one time watch for fans of werewolves, practical effects, and horror action. Werewolves is immense fun overall, between its surprise twists and action-packed scenes. Take note of the supporting cast, which features three significant female characters (Katrina Law, Kamdynn Gary, Ilfenesh Hadera) who also jump into the action. You wouldn't find that kind of thing in an '80s horror ride, but it's a refreshing element here, even if these characters aren't particularly fleshed out. So, hunker down. Werewolves is a thoroughly ambitious and pulse-pounding experience. Grillo is lit.
