Jim Henson's 1986 film "Labyrinth" is a deeply beloved classic among kids of a certain age. It presents the raw sexuality of David Bowie, playing a sexy goblin lord in tights, his bulging package kickstarting millions of kids' puberties. At the beginning of the film, the main character, the 16-year-old Sarah (Jennifer Connelly) wants nothing more than to live in a fantasy world, happy to remain in her pretty-princess phase indefinitely. However, when Bowie's goblin king kidnaps her baby brother Toby (Toby Froud), she learns that living in such a world is wild and off-putting. Most of the film is a random, light adventure, but one scene points out that Sarah is unduly clinging onto her childhood trinkets.
She learns the lesson of I Corinthians 13:11. When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man,...

Reba McEntire lost her passion for music after her mother’s death in 2020, she said in a Today show interview on Tuesday.
The country icon told hosts Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager about the sorrow she experienced after her mom, Jacqueline Smith, died from cancer at the age of 93.
She recalled telling her sister, Susie, “I said, ‘I just don’t think I’m going to do this anymore.’ [Susie] said, ‘What?’ I said, ‘Sing.’ I said, ‘I always did it for Mama.’ She said, ‘Oh, you’ll get it back.'”
Eventually, McEntire found a path back by remembering who started her out.
Her mother cultivated her and her siblings’ love of music The four of them were hailed as “the singing McEntires” during junior high and high school, she shared.
“She was really encouraging for all of us kids, whatever we wanted to do,” McEntire said. “She taught us harmony.

Oscar nominations morning has come and gone, and TheWrap takes a look at nods that came as a surprise — and who was snubbed.
Snub: Regina King
Regina King was shockingly left out of the Best Director category for “One Night in Miami.” Instead, Thomas Vinterberg took her place for directing “Another Round” (which we discuss below). King had been nominated in the category at the Globes, as well as the Critics Choice Awards.
Surprise: Lakeith Stanfield in Best Supporting
The actor received a surprise nomination in the category Best Supporting Actor… alongside his costar, Daniel Kaluuya, who has been sweeping the awards season for his role in “Judas and the Black Messiah.” David Straithairn, for his role in “Nomadland,” was left out, as was Chadwick Boseman for his role in “Da 5 Bloods.” Of course, Boseman received a Best Actor nod for his role in “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.”

From The Irishman to Parasite, we round up where you can watch all the Oscar nominees available for streaming and digital download.
The Oscar nominees for the 92nd Academy Awards have been announced, and 2019 has been an impressively strong year for film. You don’t have to look much further than Bong Joon-ho’s meditation on class and capitalism in Parasite, or Quentin Tarantino’s groovy romancing of Hollywood days gone by, to appreciate the mostly strong quality amongst the nominees this year, big and small. Here’s where you can watch many of them on streaming services.
The Irishman
A good place to start is with Netflix’s frontrunner for Best Picture. More than just a prestige project from a streaming service though, The Irishman is a beautiful and brittle eulogy offered by Martin Scorsese toward his legacy—and a final, exacting judgment on the gangsters and wiseguys associated with it.
