Yan-Kay Crystal Lowe has a new role at Hallmark Channel. The Signed, Sealed, Delivered star will direct her first movie for the network as part of its new program to increase the number of women working behind the camera.

Lowe will soon be joining the ranks of Hallmark movie directors. But first, she’ll learn what it takes to make one of the channel’s signature rom-coms by shadowing another filmmaker as the inaugural participant in the “Make Her Mark Women’s Directing Program.” The new initiative is an on-the-job mentorship where aspiring female filmmakers shadow established directors throughout the entire production of a Hallmark movie. Each candidate then goes on to direct her own Hallmark movie, with her mentor assuming the role of shadow and executive producer.

When Venus Williams is executive producing a romantic movie set around tennis, you know it's going to be good.
Even better for leading man Richard Harmon is his sister, Jessica Harmon, directs, allowing Richard room to breathe as he enters a new arena as a romantic lead.
Starring with Davida Williams as tennis players getting to know each other on and off the court, Richard shared his thoughts with us about swimming in new waters and what comes next.
What has excited you about your work after the successful run of The 100 and that army of devoted fans you had?
Oh, so much. Well, the movie that's coming up for sure, Game, Set, Love, I'm very excited. And that was inspiring to me to work with my sister, who's the director on that, and doing something so different than I'm used to and doing a romantic comedy.
That was fantastic.

It’s always difficult to bid farewell to a beloved television ensemble, but especially so for the cast of The CW’s The 100. Many viewers have literally grown up alongside these characters, who started as juvenile delinquents and ended as adults who had lived several lifetimes. Even for older viewers, the characters and the actors behind them have become much beloved.
In this case, we can happily say until we meet again, as many cast members have already lined up new projects. Some are jumping immediately into new TV series, while others are exploring film franchises. At least one actor who got the chance to try her hand at directing on The 100 is honing that craft in future projects.

Earlier last month, The 100 fandom got together in Vancouver for Unity Days 2020 to celebrate the final season of the show and to enjoy the fan-created convention once again.
With the final season still filming, there wasn't much that could be shared by the cast. In fact, everything has been very secret this time around, and we haven't even gotten a premiere date or the promise of a potential trailer.
But that is the appeal of a convention, to give fans and cast members the chance to see one another and reflect on the legacy of the show together.
That is exactly what happened from January 24th through January 26th, with fans and the cast alike spending the weekend together talking about their love for the show and their excitement for The 100 Season 7.
Cast members in attendance included Eliza Taylor (Clarke Griffin), Bob Morley (Bellamy Blake), Chuku Modu (Gabriel Santiago...

A show like The 100 is built on a passionate fanbase, so it only makes sense that the convention built around that echoes the same statement.
It was passion that pushed fans to ask for more Unity Days, and it was that reaction that pushed a fourth year of the convention coming up January 24-26, 2020.
And as any previous Unity Days attendee knows, no year is ever exactly the same. Each time the convention recreates what worked best the year before, and yet also manages to surprise the fans with unexpected ideas.
This time around that turned into Unity Days hosting their largest guest count yet, rounding out at 17 actors from the show, and that is just the backdrop for what is yet to come.
The convention has also managed to gain a lot of new faces, not just to Unity Days but to most The 100 fans as well. Actors like Chuku Modu,...

After a stumbling second outing, the third episode of iZombie took the series back to basics. We have a murder of the week scenario and all the zombie hijinks that go with it along with sprinklings of further plot development.
In this episode, two dancers have been murdered and Liv eats the brains of the female (Nancy) which exposes their co-dependant relationship at first and then eats the brains of the male (Gulliver). Nancy is annoyingly needy and Gulliver is an enabler of it. It’s quite an interesting case to watch unfold and has its fair share of twists and turns from beginning to end. It has a rather anticlimactic end but the scenes we get before it are entertaining enough to accept that.

Last month, The 100 fandom came together in Vancouver for Unity Days 2018 and to celebrate the upcoming season of the show. Unity Days is a con created by fellow fans of the show and its goal for the second year is to make their events for the fans.
That is exactly what happened from January 19th - 21st, with fans and the cast alike spending the weekend together talking about their love for the show and their excitement for Season 5.
This couldn't have happened with an amazing team led by Leana Santos and Miah Bannerman. Linda Suurhoff, Shayne Bannerman, Melissa Christensen, Colin Christensen, and all the volunteers at the event made Unity Days not only possible but functional as well.
Now the cast members that came to Unity Days included characters from the past and even some that we haven't been properly introduced to yet.

On a day when “Fear the Walking Dead” and “The Walking Dead” stalked into Comic-Con, at least “iZombie” brought friendlier zombie faces to San Diego.
During the panel for the CW series on Friday, creators Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero-Wright answered questions along with cast members Rose McIver, Malcolm Goodwin, Rahul Kohli, Robert Buckley, David Anders, and Aly Michalka. The show had just wrapped up its third season in which a new world order was declared in the finale.

If you have ever wondered what Major Lillywhite would be like as a teenage girl, then you, like, totally got your wish after iZombie Season 3 Episode 2.
It was one of the funniest iZombie hours to date. As if anyone could dispute that. Don't even…
It was also a heartwarming (and heartbreaking) hour that explored the origins of Clive's relationship with Wally.
Join TV Fanatics Allison, Amanda, and Yana, as they discuss "Zombie Knows Best."
On a scale of 1-10, like how awesome was Major on like teenage girl brain?
Allison: Oh em gee, like totally an 11. Hands down my favorite brains on the show yet. Please tell me Ravi saved some of the brains because I'm going to need a repeat of this magical performance.
Amanda: 10 seems too small a number. Can I say 100? Major on teen girl brain was the gift we didn't know we needed! Robert Buckley's performance was absolutely hilarious.

There are a plethora of really shitty movies based on video games being released each year. None of them holding a candle to the source material it is based on. However each and every time I get suckered in because I want to be impressed by these attempts, as a movie fan and a gamer I need to be impressed. And let’s be honest, the premise of the Dead Rising games is just about absurd enough to work as a movie and with this being the second outing well have they learnt.

Press Release (via Home Theater Forum): Culver City, Calif. (Oct. 10, 2016) – Prepare for a nonstop assault of zombie-slaying action when Dead Rising: Endgame debuts on Blu-ray™, DVD and Digital December 6 from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Last week at Comic-Con, I participated in roundtable interviews for Dead Rising: Endgame, the second film based on Capcom’s popular zombie video game franchise. With the Legendary Digital Media movie now available to watch on Crackle, the cast and crew discussed their badass characters in the sequel, plans for a Dead Rising TV series, and much more.
Keegan Connor Tracy and Marie Avgeropoulos on what attracted them to the Dead Rising franchise:
Keegan Connor Tracy: My role was actually supposed to be a man in the beginning. For whatever reason, they let me audition, even though it was supposed to be a man. I liked that. I liked that she was a strong character in that respect because originally she was meant to be a man. I felt that if they had written her as a woman, they wouldn’t have written her that way. Is this a story related to Sdcc? Well with it starting today you know we’ve got you covered at Cinelinx. Yes it was a shameless plug and I feel not the least bit sorry. So let’s talk Dead Rising 4. The next installment in the series has you returning to the role of Frank West the weapon wielding photographer from the first game. And Frank will be heading back to Willamette, Colorado for Christmas time zombie bashing.
Well there’s going to be a Frank West roaming the floor of Sdcc 2016 doing Frank type things and taking selfies with the fans. Shout out to the twitter account @DeadRising who are having a lot of fun on social media by the way I gave them a follow. But on top of having fun with the con attendees he’ll have some prizes for the best costumes so keep an eye out for that guy.

Ten days out from its anticipated premiere, we have a host of exclusive – and darn well stylish – character posters to share for Crackle’s flesh-munching sequel, Dead Rising: Endgame.
Due to make its bow via the streaming service on June 20, the horror actioner largely takes place in East Mission City, an area irrefutably crippled by the zombie outbreak. In a bid to quell that devastating pandemic, the government hatches a plan to send the undead packing, but it’s one that will also entail massive collateral damage – the death of millions of innocent people.
Taking a stand against that scorched earth tactic are your new favorite band of zombie hunters, with today’s exclusive batch of posters spotlighting Chase Carter (Jesse Metcalfe), General Lyons (Dennis Haysbert), Jordan (Keegan Connor Tracy) and wacky scientist Rand (Billy Zane). The first trailer has been released for Legendary Digital's zombie film Dead Rising: Endgame, which is based on the popular video game franchise Dead Rising, and is also a sequel to the movie Dead Rising Watchtower. I enjoyed the first film and this new one looks like it will be just as entertaining.
Dead Rising: Endgame drops us into the zombie-infested quarantined zone of East Mission City where investigative reporter Chase Carter (Jesse Metcalfe) must stop a secret government conspiracy which, though seemingly aimed at ending the country’s zombie epidemic, will also kill millions of innocent civilians. Dead Rising: Endgame is based on the hugely popular Dead Rising video game franchise by Capcom, which has sold over 9.1 million copies worldwide.
Jesse Metcalfe returns to Dead Rising: Endgame as Chase Carter, the well-known television journalist who goes back underground to stop the military’s rogue operation and break the ultimate story.

East Mission City beckons, and there’s a government conspiracy to uncover in the latest trailer for Dead Rising: Endgame, the video game movie sequel that’s due to shuffle onto Crackle later this month.
With the majority of the urban landscape now under quarantine, Endgame picks up at a time when Chase Carter – played once again by Jesse Metcalfe, who reprises his lead role from Watchtower – begins to unearth disconcerting details relating to a massive cover-up that could go a ways to explaining the origins of the zombie virus running rampant in the city.
The truth, however, is far worse, when our chainsaw-wielding hero uncovers the government’s scorched earth approach to dealing with the zombie epidemic – one that will seemingly bring an end to the mutated infection at the cost of millions of innocent lives. On board to postpone the apocalypse are Billy Zane, Dennis Haysbert, Marie Avgeropoulos,...

It looks as though every plot thread established on iZombie will explode in grand fashion when the two-hour season finale arrives next week. One view of the extended preview, which can be seen at the top of the page, will likely cause fans to countdown the days.
As we can see in the trailer, things aren’t going all too well for Major, who was arrested at the end of last night’s episode. Seeing as how he has reverted back to zombie form, going without adequate brain food could ultimately prove dangerous for both he and his fellow inmates. We all remember how rough it was for Liv when she found herself temporarily incarcerated earlier this season.
It also looks like we need to keep our eyes on those rowdy looking zombies in Max Rager’s secret basement. Will they break free and take a tour of the city?...

For the second year in a row, the Tribeca Film Festival has awarded the best, most creative Vine videos it can find. The winners have been announced for the #6SecFilms competition, with five champions emerging from the initial field of 536 videos. All of the contest's videos were created via Vine, the video capture app that limits submissions to six-second runtimes. The time constraint forces users to get creative, and this often causes adept artists to turn to stop-motion. This year, three of the five champions are animated via stop-motion, while a fourth has stop-motion elements as well. The #6SecFilms jury included online video notables like Gary Vaynerchuk, Jerome Jarre, and Tiffany Shlain. "At last year's Tff, Vine was a brand new and many creators were just beginning to get their hands dirty," said Tribeca Film Festival Director of Programming Genna Terranova. "A year later, there is more mastery of the...
