As we look forward to the next 10 weeks….. yes, that’s about all it is between now and the draft…. I will give my opinion on what I think will/could happen. Some of this is based on info, some of it is based on speculation and some is based on what I would do if I was AP (and you can all Thank God that I’m not! because he’s the fucking man!)
Prior to the beginning of Free Agency
1. Washington will trade their 2025 and 2026 1st round picks for Myles Garrett. Garrett will then sign a two year extension, for a total of a 4 year deal for a total of $140 million, $75 million guaranteed, with 1 void year at the end. The Cap hit for 2025 will be $18 million. There may be some additional pick swapping, but that’s above my pay grade to get into the draft chart and figure that out.
2. Jon Allen will restructure his deal and add 2 years and it will include $25 million in guarantees, total deal of $45 million. This will free up approximately $10 million in 2025 Cap Room.
3. Lattimore will restructure his deal and will add 1 year for a total of a 3 year deal with $30 million guaranteed, total deal of $48 million. 2025 Cap hit of $12 million.
4. Ertz will sign a 1 year deal at $5 million.
5. Wags will sign a 1 year deal at $5 million.

Wylie, maybe Butler
During Free Agency
1. Washington will sign Chris Godwin to a 3 year deal for a total of $51 million with $26 million guaranteed. 2025 Cap Hit of $9.5 million
2. Washington will sign Chavarius Ward to a 3 year $54 million deal with $28 million guaranteed. 2025 Cap Hit of $11.5 million.
3. Washington will sign Will Fries to a 4 year $52 million deal with $24 million guaranteed. 2025 Cap Hit of $7 million.
4. Washington will sign Alaric Jackson to a 4 year $56 million deal with $28 million guaranteed. 2025 Cap Hit of $8.5 million.
Draft
AP will make a trade to acquire an extra Day 2 pick. My guess is a trade back in round 3 by a few picks and will pick up a second 3rd rounder or possibly a 4th (which I know isn’t Day 2, but you get the point)
2nd round pick - If we pick at the current spot, I would look at players like - Henderson, Ersery, Kennard, Burch, Emmanwori, Tez Johnson
Day 3 - I would look for depth being added to OL, DL, LB, WR
Overall, I think the focus will be to add at least 5 proven starters that upgrade positions of need. I believe the front office recognizes that the OL needs an infusion of young talent, hence Jackson and Fries. They also realize that they need to start draft OL and build a pipeline for the future. If Garrett is indeed acquired and you can pair him with Allen, Payne, Newton and possibly another EDGE from the draft, we could have a formidable DL for the next few years which should also help the run defense and secondary. Lattimore, at least they are anticipating, will return to form with a full offseason to get healthy, get acclimated with the team and work with coaches and trainers to find his best spot for success. they will county on Mikey to man the outside next year opposite Latt and expect him to continue to grow. Slot CB will likely be manned by either a 1 year FA signing or Iggy if they can bring him back or possibly a Day 3 pick if they can find a gem. They are satisfied at safety unless they can find someone in FA that will sign a team friendly deal like Hufanga. Overall, I expect 7-8 new starters with most of them coming from FA and trade. 25-27 will be ALL-IN years with the realization that JD will break the bank in 28 and they will have to refocus on stock piling draft picks, possibly having to strip it down and rebuild it in 28 and 29.
Ok, throw your rocks and sling your arrows, I’m ready!
No matter what, we are in for a fun ride!
****Alternate scenario #1 - the Garrett trade doesn’t happen - Wash signs Mack to a 2 year deal for $40 million, $26 million guaranteed for a 2025 Cap Hit of $15 million.
