Benjamin Lechuga is a composer/producer/guitarist based in Los Angeles California. Born and raised in Santiago, Chile, at age 17, he won the "Ibanez Porject" guitar contest and became one of the youngest Ibanez international endorsers ever. After winning some other local competitions, Steve Vai chose Benjamin's song "Pehoe" as the worldwide winner of the "Steve Vai Scholarship" contest. The prize consisted in studying the 1 year Guitar Higher Diploma in Europe's leading music School: The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP) in London, UK during 2011 - 2012.
During 2014, his album "The Search Part 1" was nominated by the Chilean Press to "Best Metal Artists of 2014" and "Best Overall Artist" in the most important musical awards in Chile: "Premios Pulsar"
His 3rd album "The Search Part 3" was released during September 2017 with an European Tour including Germany, Belgium, Netherlands and Slovakia and playing festivals as Euroblast (Germany), Prog power Europe (Netherlands), Mountains of Rock (Germany) and doing opening acts for Marty Friedman in his Latin American tour, both in Chile and Mexico. The album involves world-class guest musicians such as Derek Sherinian (Ex- Dream Theater, Sonf of Apollo), Ron "Bumblefoot" Thal (Ex-Guns 'n' Roses, Sons of Apollo), Simone Grove (PLINI), Vladimir Lalic (Organized Chaos, David Maxim Micic) among others.
In 2019 Benjamin relocated to Los Angeles, California, kicking off a riskier and bigger bet towards his career, uniting his many hats as a guitarist, producer, composer and mixing engineer. Lechuga is currently preparing his next release: a 6 track EP called "It's Not What It Seems", with the first single "Spiral Clock" scheduled for January 2021 as a result of the joining of forces between WARNER MUSIC and IGED RECORDS.
