Jac Jiro Römer also known by the name Nereo (con el flow Curaçaleño) is a talented, bilingual producer & artist born on the Island Nation of Curaçao.
Nereo passion for music began at the age of 6 where he started taking lesson of cuatro from R. Rubiano a profesional jazz guitarist on the island of Curaçao.
After 4 years Nereo advanced to the acoustic guitar and after 2 years to the bass guitar. During this period of time Nereo learned to play the piano by watching his eldest brother playing. Nereo is one of the few producer & artist out of the island of Curaçao that incorporate 4 different languages into his music.
Nereo’s love for music was impacted by the late Bob Marley. But by being from the Island of Curaçao he wanted to blend, mesh and create his own style of music, a Latin reggae, afro Caribbean beat, and incorporate all the languages (Papiamento, Dutch, Spanish, and English) he knows into his songs.
In 2010 Nereo moved to the Netherlands and successfully finished his pre-conservatory academy. After completing this milestone in his music career he focused all his attention towards a music, producer & singer-songwriter career.
In 2017 he debuted two singles, dedicated to his hometown of Curacao named “Un Isla” and “Caminando por la calle”. After 3 years without releasing music, Nereo came back in 2020 with his Caribbean style.
Nereo ambitions and goals are to bring the Caribbean happiness in different countries by working with local- and international artists.
