Wazoo tourne la Manivelle, boit un canon pour sauver un vigneron et chante la ruralité. #agriculteurs
Wazoo was born a quarter of a century ago in the heart of the Auvergne volcanoes. With their hit song "La Manivelle," the Auvergne-based band erupted onto the scene of lively, restless nights. Since then, these merry-makers have been crisscrossing the French countryside, delivering loads of good cheer. To date, they have performed over 600 concerts, sold more than 600,000 albums and singles, and amassed over 60 million video streams. Recently, the band made waves again with their track "Agriculteurs" on TikTok. The song was embraced by farmers protesting on roadblocks, becoming the anthem and symbol of the agricultural crisis in January 2024.
Defying the traditional folklore of the Massif Central, the songs of these kings of revelry resonate as a tribute to rural life and local heritage. On stage, the Auvergne quartet is a fiery cocktail of volcanic energy. With them, you dance the "brise pied," “drink a glass to save a winemaker,” or indulge in "apérophilie" (a love of aperitifs).
In 2024, the band celebrates its 25th anniversary with the release of their new album, "Un veau qui tète bien n’a pas besoin de foin" (A calf that suckles well doesn’t need hay).
