Producer and musician Paul Camillo Schröder, known as Aparde, has been crafting music that is both technically avant-garde and deeply emotional from his Berlin-based studio. His signature sound blends electronic innovation with raw sensitivity, creating immersive sonic landscapes. Born on the nature-rich island of Usedom on the Baltic Sea, Aparde’s melancholic and atmospheric style is shaped by his surroundings. He spent nine years in music school, mastering drums, piano, and guitar, before teaching himself electronic music—initially influenced by bands like Deftones and Radiohead. Moving to Berlin, he pursued his vision of becoming a music producer in the heart of the electronic music scene.
The name Aparde originates from an ancient Greek word meaning “apathetic,” a trait the artist identifies with: “I guess you can say that I’m a guarded or introverted person.” Music has always been a therapeutic outlet for him, a way to process emotions and experiences.
After gaining recognition through live sets in Berlin’s clubs, Aparde released his first LP, Goldene Barrikaden, in 2011, followed by a
series of EPs on labels like Stil vor Talent, Traum Schallplatten, and Lenient Tales Recordings. His breakthrough came in 2017 with Glass on Ki Records, a critically
acclaimed album featuring analog instruments and self-recorded sounds, defining his organic yet intricate style. In 2019, Hands Rest took this further, blending Berlin’s club influences with intimate, avant-garde pop elements.
Now, Aparde continues his artistic evolution with his upcoming EP ISSUES, set for release on March 21, 2025, via Ki Records. Exploring personal and universal struggles, ISSUES marks a shift in his creative process, relying more on digital soundscapes while maintaining his signature emotional depth. With each release, Aparde pushes the boundaries of electronic music, solidifying his place as a visionary artist in the contemporary music landscape.
