Beginning in the 1980s, Line Adam started her first orchestrations and musical direction in the 1990s, continuing with international tours, concerts, and shows.
She has composed:
• Film scores such as Voltaire et l’affaire Calas (TSR, FR2), William Z (RTBF), Les Gens pressés sont déjà morts (RTBF), Chang (USA), La Solidarité mon C… (ARTE), Le Rendez-vous (Tunisia), La Louve (FR3), L’Africain qui voulait voler (Gabon/Neon-Rouge), The Mercy of the Jungle (Neon Rouge/Tact Production/Perfect Shot Films), as well as numerous documentary scores for ARTE, TV5MONDE, and FRANCE 2.
• Original stage music for many Belgian and French projects, including 7 productions by Les Baladins du Miroir, l’Infini Théâtre, 5 plays for Théâtre du Moderne, and 7 musicals for l’École de la Scène de Bruxelles.
• Pieces for various Belgian and international ensembles such as Ensemble Quartz, Saxacorda, the Thaïs Quartet, Le Sempre Trio, the Liège Chamber Orchestra, Le Trio Krokus, Musiques Nouvelles, the Aïda Quartet, and Clap Duo.
• Two operas for the Royal Opera of Wallonia: Sybil et les silhouettes (a finalist in the Operaj competition) in 2012, and Fleurs de peau in 2015.
• A chamber opera based on Voltaire’s philosophical tale Micromégas for the “Next Opera Days” festival of Ars Musica.
• 7 Tableaux for the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Liège in 2021.
She has also produced over 70 albums as an arranger and/or artistic director and led the polyphonic vocal group I Canta Storia for 20 years. Her personal albums include Northern Flute, Sculptures, Museum, België-Belgique, Spices, Faits d’hiver, Landscape with String, Northern Piano, Cordes sensibles, Femme, La chanson de l’oubli et les sept péchés capitaux, and Film Soundtracks.
In 2008, she co-created Concert de Dessin with François Schuiten.
In 2022, she composed:
• Music for Les bonnes by Genet (directed by D. Serron, l’Infini Théâtre).
• Tempus fugit, premiered by Musiques Nouvelles in April 2022.
• Two albums for French publishers CDM Music & Superpitch.
• The score for La porteuse souffle for Les Baladins du Miroir.
• Music for Charlatans imaginaires for Arts Nomades.
• Fin funèbre, premiered at Flagey for the 60th anniversary of Musiques Nouvelles.
In 2023 & 2024, she is composing:
• Stabat Mater, premiered on December 8, 2023, at the Sacred Music Festival by the ensemble Musiques Nouvelles.
• The chamber opera Micromégas by Voltaire for the Ars Musica festival.
• A piece for Clap Duo (marimba and clarinet) performed by Ch. Michiels and P. Quiriny.
• The release of the album Film Soundtracks, featuring her most beautiful film themes.
• The albums La chanson de l’oubli (set to poems by Vincent Engel) and Sept péchés capitaux.
• Music for the play Soudain la pierre by Les Baladins du Miroir.
• A composition for the Clarias 2.0 clarinet quartet.
• A work for the vocal octet Le Concert Etésien.
