W552 Baseball Cards |
1919 Mayfair Novelty W542 & W552 Strip Cards1919 Mayfair Novelty Generic Baseball Players. An interesting set with some variations and error according to Pre-War Cards. The set has a couple cards that resemble players of the day, for example, the shortstop is thought to resemble Honus Wagner and the Fielder resembles Joe Jackson. The cards could be found on 12 card sheets, 15 card sheets and 10 card strips. Variations exist between the sheets. All of our cards are from the 10 card strips. We have a number of these strips intact if collectors are interested. The cards measure about 1-1/2" x 2-1/2" and have drawings of player positions on them and all have blank backs. Variations can be found with small orangeish-yellow diamonds on the back. At this time, I do not have much information on the W542 cards, but they are the same size as the W552 cards and also have blank backs. We have individual cards and complete 10 card strips.
