A native of Ogden, Utah, Blake Moore is a proactive problem solver committed to representing each and every constituent of Utah's First District. He was sworn in to the House of Representatives in January 2021 and was elected to succeed Speaker Mike Johnson as Vice Chair of the House Republican Conference in November 2023, making him the first Utahn elected to House or Senate leadership.
In his role as Vice Chair, Blake and his team amplify the House Republican Conference’s messaging efforts through Special Orders, floor speeches, messaging competitions, mass communications assistance and templates, and more. The Vice Chair’s team also hosts member and staff professional development events to strengthen skills across the conference.
Blake currently serves as the first-ever Utah Republican on the House Ways and Means Committee, where he sits on the Healthcare, Social Security, and Work and Welfare subcommittees. He also serves on the House Budget Committee to push for policies to reverse our national debt crisis. Blake continues to represent Utah’s Hill Air Force Base as Co-Chair of the Armed Forces and Depot caucuses, and he is also Co-Chair of the DOGE Caucus.
Before being elected to Congress, Blake worked for small businesses and in the foreign service. As a Principal at Cicero Group, Blake worked primarily in the social impact, marketing research, and strategy practice areas leading projects and serving clients throughout Utah and the nation. He has expertise in education, financial services, public policy, healthcare, transportation, supply chain, and waste industries, and this work informs his customer service and problem solver approach in Washington, D.C. His passion for helping organizations manage the change process drives his ambition to overcome partisan gridlock, improve federal agencies, and smartly streamline the nation's bureaucracy.
Blake obtained a Master's in Public Policy and Administration from Northwestern University. He graduated from the University of Utah after serving a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Seoul, South Korea, and signing a scholarship to play quarterback at Utah State University. In high school, he was awarded the Wendy's National High School Heisman, an award honoring excellence in athletics, academics, and citizenship.
Blake is married to Jane Boyer, his amazing, humorous, and very candid wife, who encourages him to take risks and pursue big things. Blake and Jane have four awesome and active boys who keep them on their toes- Max, George, Winston, and Franklin.
