“That's not just a room - it's like an apartment, having everything you may need in the kitchen, comfortable bedroom, bathroom with hot water! It has a private entrance, so you may be 100% independent and never disturbed. However if you need to contact the owner, he is always available.
The view from the window is absolutely amazing. Place is very calm and peaceful (both day and night time). It's about 2.5-3 km from Ribeira Grande - you have an option to have an enjoyable walk or take a collective taxi, easily. Surroundings are beautiful and offer some very nice hiking options.
Hosts are very kind, respectful and helpful.

“We had a wonderful stay at Casa Santa Barbara. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The garden, pool and other exterior areas were well kept and appealing.
Breakfast was always fresh, varied and more than plenty, served outdoors in a lovely setting, by Fernanda who was the loveliest host we could have asked for.
The staff made us feel welcome and were incredibly friendly and helpful, going well beyond their duties.
The house is conveniently located in a quiet area, within walking distance of the town centre and all facilities.
We stayed at Santa Barbara for four days, and were sincerely sorry to leave - but will definitely be back to explore more trails on Santo Antão.

“One of the girls speaks really good english and she was so helpful! I arrived one day earlier and the hotel was full, but she found me another accommodation at another place around the corner. There was no problem with extending my stay either. The place is in the center so very strategic for getting allugar, shopping or dinning. There is also laundry place closeby. At the market accross the street you can buy some local products like apples for your hikes. Breakfast was typical turist one (omelet, toast wth ham and cheese, coffee or tea, juice, cake) - fresh and big. The staff is really helpful.”
