Meanwhile, if you take a global look, rapid advance in technology, IT and biotechnology in particular, is changing our way of life and our way of thinking in a fundamental manner. We are increasingly observing extreme weather events like heat wave and heavy rain as well as huge cyclones and wild fires. The survival of modern civilization as we know it will depend on whether or not we will be able to take effective measures against global warming.
Are we up to these challenges? Prominent speakers and panelists will address this tough question. The United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) will be a major subject of reference in the discussions.
