I started taking care of my Dad in 2009. He was diabetic and was on dialysis 3 times a week. My Mom didn't drive so I would transport him back and forth. I also took him to all Dr's appointments. He had triple bypass surgery as well. After he passed in 2011, my Mom was diagnosed with Lung cancer. I took her to chemo andradiation, all Dr's appts and did laundry, cooking and cleaning. She eventually moved in with me under hospice care until she passed. After that I decided to do care giving for others. I've worked with elderly men & women with dementia and other illnesses.
