Wikisource:Proposed deletion policy

From Wikisource

This is a proposed policy. Please see the talk page

Pages other than those exempted below should be listed on Wikisource:Proposed deletions or Wikisource:Possible copyright violations for at least a week before they are deleted.

The following are candidates for speedy deletion.

  1. No meaningful content or history (eg "sdhgdf"). (Including patent nonsense)
  2. Test pages (eg "Can I really create a page here?")
  3. Pure vandalism (see Wikisource:Vandalism in progress)
  4. Very short pages with little or no definition or context (e.g., "He is a funny man that has created Factory and the Hacienda. And, by the way, his wife is great.")
  5. Reposted content that was deleted according to this deletion policy.
  6. Pages created and edited solely by a banned user, after they were banned unless the user has been unbanned. See bans and blocks. This might be slightly controversial.
  7. Redirects with no history which have been created by moving user pages out of the article space. (Sometimes new users accidentally create user pages in the main article space. Move them into the user space using the "Move this page" tool to preserve their history, and consider waiting a day or two before deleting the resultant redirect.)
  8. Articles which have already been moved via the transwiki system
  9. Deleting an image which is an exact copy of another one.
  10. No content other than external links
  11. Reappearing works that has previously been deleted as copyright violations. See Wikisource:Copyvio archives for a list of works for which copyright issues has been questioned and resolved.
  12. Pages which have been imported with their full history to another language version Wikisource.
