Excellent Learning Environment
The university library is an ideal environment for studying and working – we offer three large reading rooms, a room for manuscripts and rare books, as well as a music room. Additionally, there are 13 group study rooms of various sizes on the second floor. Our reading rooms have open shelves filled with literature from various disciplines, essential for both students and researchers. Library users also have access to numerous databases in Estonian and foreign languages, necessary for academic studies and research.
Support for Students and Researchers
We support students and researchers in conducting their research and academic work: we expand collections necessary for studies, organize seminars and training sessions, help find scientific information, and provide guidance on creating data management plans. We continuously develop our services to make the academic and research work of our users more visible, both in Estonia and worldwide.
Virtual Collections and Learning Materials
Digital collections and learning tools are becoming increasingly important each year, and the library plays a key role in managing them. In collaboration with the university’s faculties, we create solutions and opportunities for the preservation, use, and publication of research works and learning materials.
Diverse Cultural Environment
Cultural events are an integral part of the library's daily life. Exhibitions on various floors of the building showcase both our library's collections and the works of renowned and emerging artists. In addition to the university community, we welcome all residents of Tartu and visitors of our city to various events – cultural conferences, curator tours, book presentations, and concerts.
