Transwarp cell

A transwarp cell is an essential component of a Transwarp Drive, providing whatever motive force it is that can propel a starship through transwarp. They are sophisticated enough to be programmed to follow specific courses and even affect the systems of the spacecraft they're installed into.

Tarantulas stole a transwarp cell from the Darksyde, intending to use it as part of an escape ship. While he was distracted, Megatron was able to access it remotely and download his own program into the cell. Before the Storm Tarantulas later installed it into a stasis pod, which Optimus Primal later used to attack the Vok Planet Buster. Although Primal had intended to eject, Megatron was able to use the reprogrammed transwarp cell to lock the hatch on the pod and ensure that its occupant exploded with the alien weapon.
