Talk:Go-Bot (G2)
From Transformers Wiki
D'oh! I used the term "Takara GoBots" in THREE explanations, yet meant "Tonka." Aaargh!--G.B. Blackrock 23:56, 4 May 2006 (UTC)
I thought Go-Bots were a totally different cartoon series. Leader 1 and Cykill, etc. --Some guy
Yes, but when Hasbro bought Tonka, who owned GoBots, they used the name all over the place. For example, this G2 toy. --ItsWalky 15:44, 10 May 2006 (UTC)
I did not know that. Thanks for the clarification. --Kanaloa
Where should Optimus Prime (redecoed Firecracker) and Megatron (redecoed Blowout) be put in ? --TX55 07:16, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
Guns reused in Star Wars?
I don't have any Go-Bot or Spychanger handy to double-check... but aren't the guns on this Star Wars playset the ones from a Go-Bot? http://www.rebelscum.com/photo.asp?image=/potf2/POTF2playDSdetentionblasters.jpg --Detour 06:18, 14 December 2009 (EST)
- Wouldn't those guns be part of the sprue? - Starfield 11:29, 14 December 2009 (EST)
- That definitely looks like a Go-Bot gun, yeah. It's not uncommon to see parts from one toy turn up on another as part of the mock-up process - G2 Prime's launchers were remolded from a GI Joe figure's weapons, offhand... -hx 17:16, 14 December 2009 (EST)
Stupid new retcon clones
This page's intro now claims that characters these toys don't link to anymore have had changes from their old bodies. This needs to be addressed in some way. -LV 23:29, 26 October 2012 (EDT)
- BUMP* Yea! Something needs to be done. The intro is not wrong. Ironhide's toy bio explicitly says he is the old Ironhide re-engineered. It is not really truthful to have have his links go to the clone guy, especially in the toy section. The toys certainly weren't clones in 1995. They were the same characters in new bodies. - Starfield 23:15, 7 January 2013 (EST)
More name retconning
The Legacy guidebook names two of the unreleased cars 4X and 911 (like that, without quotes), because of course that's what's on their painted deco. Should these be listed as character names, somewhere? --Thylacine 2000 (talk) 21:53, 9 April 2018 (EDT)
