Singapore Comic Con
From Transformers Wiki
Singapore Comic Con is a comic convention, not unlike San Diego Comic-Con. The difference is, of course, it takes place in Singapore, and has been running since 1986.

2023
While Transformers, being the huge brand it is, had a mild presence throughout the event's history, this year really put things into high gear with the inagural Cybertron Fest, a Hasbro sponsored exhibition hosted at the events 2023 incarnation from 9–10 December, 2023. It is the second official Transformers event hosted there that year, following the world premiere of Rise of the Beasts, coincidentally both were held at Marina Bay Sands.
Exhibition Areas
Entrance
A split path corridor for both factions, with pictures of Movieverse Optimus Prime and Bumblebee on one side, and two pictures of Megatron on the other. Each one has a button that plays a voice clip:
- Bumblebee: "You can't handle the truth!" (See "Errors" below)
- Optimus Prime: "Autobots, Transform and Roll Out!"
- Megatron (outer): "I am... Megatron!!"
- Megatron (inner): "We shall finish off the Autobots once and for all!"
The splitting section also has content: the side facing the Megatrons is about the 1984 Marvel comic series, with selected covers being shown off (sadly no copies can be grabbed to read), while the side facing the Autobots is about the 1984 Sunbow cartoon series, and plays the original "More than Meets" the Eye pilot.
At the end is a life-sized statue of Optimus in his Rise of The Beasts design, occasionally playing various sound-bytes.
Historical Zone
As the name suggest, this section is a quick skim throughout the various Transformers toys over the years. Starting from good old G1 to some of the latest offerings of Legacy at the time.
Fan Collection Zone
A selection of toys from Singaporean collectors, most notably a collection of Optimus Primes and Megatrons.
Transformers Toys
A showcase of almost every official Transformers toy released/revealed recently at the time it was set up. The area also played host to the reveal of Legacy United Tidal Wave (which had its own accompanying video in lieu of Sam Smith and Ben MacCrae not being able to make it to Singapore in person), Legacy United Origins Wheeljack and the Lunar New Year special Crimsonflame (which was teased in the run-up to the event).
All Things Transformers
This section is for almost all the stuff that this wiki would classify as Merchandise. Notable featured items include model Kits from Threezero and Yolopark, Robosen Robots (which had a dedicated play area for attendants to play with), and Busts.
Experiential Zone
For fans to get in on the action. Customise! Photograph some action shots (with the usual tag online for prizes schtick) with help of some props! Play Mobile Legends with the Transformers skins or a demo for that new EarthSpark game!
Transformers shop
This is the usual convention gift shop, except the toys are all available early for 2 days... at least that's what it said in the press release. Almost everything here is new to the Asian market, and this is also the first international debut for the first wave of 2024 Studio Series... except for the Deluxes for some reason (which were completely absent-not even the displays had them!).
Miscellaneous
- Meet and greet with Optimus Prime (in an evergreen-style costume).
Errors
- Bumblebee at the entrance is depicted in his appearance in the 2007 movie, but the sound byte comes from the more recent Rise of the Beasts. Similarly, Megatron sports his Revenge of the Fallen design for both of the pictures, yet one of the voice clips more resembles Frank Welker's rendition of the character as opposed to the Hugo Weaving based clip from the other.
- Lots under the Historical Zone:
- The description for Beast Wars talks about Machine Wars instead.
- The Alternators and Star Wars Transformers lines are labelled as Unicron Trilogy toylines.
- The description for the Aligned Continuity is a mess:
- It neglects to mention War For Cybertron and it's sequel, Prime, and Rescue Bots Academy.
- It then mentioned Go! being released under Hasbro's branding-it wasn't. Go! being mentioned is especially baffling considering the historical section doesn't mention other Takara(Tomy) made lines such as Binaltech or Robotmasters (aside from name-dropping the Japanese names of the Unicron Trilogy franchises).
- Under the Prime Wars Trilogy section, Power of the Primes is mislabeled as Power of Prime.
- Both the 2001 Transformers; Robots in Disguise series and Transformers Animated are omitted from the display, though the fan display grants them reprieve as Roll Out Command Optimus Prime and Leader Class Megatron appear in it, and an Optimus Prime with a fire engine alternate mode was mentioned by the write up about Optimus Primes.
- This isn't really an error, but EarthSpark, despite being the newest show tie-in series at the time, didn't get a lot of presence here, only being relegated to a tiny display next to the gift shop and the aforementioned game demo. How odd.
