Demus is a Decepticon Monoformer from the 2005 IDW portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

His condition is "being an asshole".

Demus had such an aversion to alt modes that he not only had all his kibble surgically removed, but became physically ill when seeing anyone transform. Not surprisingly he went on to become a member of Triple-M alongside Krok. During the Great War, he enlisted with the Decepticons and served under the command of Deathsaurus.

After the war ended, Demus received an honourable discharge from his commander and set himself up as a scrap metal merchant on Tebris VII. He eventually branched out into building domestic appliances from what he couldn't sell, and, from there, set himself up as the inventor and proprietor of his "Roboids", marketed as cute animal toys. Some Of My Best Friends Are Autobots This business success hid a much darker secret: rather than building the Roboids, Demus simply kidnapped and "domesticated" Transformers with beast modes, shipping them to organic customers as "torture dolls" for them to vent their frustrations on. With his newfound wealth, Demus was able to indulge himself and became a collector of vintage moons, owning fourteen of them, Some Of My Best Friends Are Autobots but he was also aware that his illegal activities could not be ignored by the authorities forever. To this end, he managed to strike a deal with a group of Cybertronians who served the enigmatic "Grand Architect"; in exchange for his personal protection, he became one of their affiliates, using a secret basement underneath his scrapyard as a laboratory to fulfill the Grand Architect's goal of creating genetically altered Transformers.

For his repeated and flagrant violations of the Tyrest Accord, Demus soon fell under the scrutiny of Fortress Maximus, its Duly Appointed Enforcer. When Maximus warned Demus of his impending arrest, the trader defended his actions, stating that it was a "survivor's market." Animals

When the Scavengers crash-landed on Tebris VII, months later, Demus made contact with Krok through a Triple-M subgroup on The Big Conversation and invited them to his headquarters to talk business. Once they had been fitted with inhibitor chips to prevent them from transforming, the noticeably jumpy Demus told them of his offer: they would receive half a billion Shanix each in exchange for their captive, the brain-damaged Grimlock. While the Scavengers discussed it amongst themselves, Demus excused himself to make a call, begging his patrons for protection, but was caught and summarily executed by Fortress Maximus. Two hours too late to rescue Demus, several of his associates arrived to dispose of his secret projects. They were more concerned about the condition of their stock than they were about Demus's demise. Animals
