Fiction

Wings Universe

Jhiaxus, seeking to create a new unified faction of Transformers, "borrowed" personality components, forestonite, Hi-Q, and blueprints from Quantum Laboratories. One of his creations was a clone of Bumblebee. A Flash Forward, Part 3 Bumblebee and five other clones were presented to Pyro's team as an example of a "second generation" of Transformers unfettered by the eternal war. When another clone apparently woke up early, Bumblebee and Mirage accompanied Jhiaxus to greet the newly awakened Sideswipe, unaware it was actually the original Sideswipe in disguise. A Flash Forward, Part 5 After Jhiaxus's base was destroyed, Bumblebee, Ironhide, and Mirage confronted the escaping Autobots, but Pyro talked them into returning to Earth with him. The original Generation 1 Bumblebee's Generation 2 Go-Bot toy was officially repurposed as the next-generation Bumblebee clone.
Part of the third wave of Generation 2 Go-Bots, this version of Bumblebee is a redeco of wave 1's High Beam, transforming into a concept race car with exposed rear engine... that looks exactly like the "Speed Blaster" car from Mattel's Hot Wheels line that was first released in 1991 under the names "Back Burner" and "Sonic Special". He features through-axle construction for incredibly fast zipping on flat, smooth surfaces, and is compatible with many tracks and playsets from Hot Wheels and Matchbox.
This mold was also used to make Robots in Disguise Crosswise and Nightracer.
