Ark-32

Ark-32 is an Autobot starship from the 2005 IDW portion of the Generation 1 continuity family.

The Ark-32 is one of a fleet of numbered Autobot ships designated Ark. They are presumably named after the first legendary lost Ark. It is identical in outward appearance to Ark-7 and Ark-27.

On Optimus Prime's orders, Nightbeat rendezvoused with Ark-32 as it traveled to Earth. Spotlight: Nightbeat The ship delivered him, Hot Rod and Hardhead to Earth. Escalation #3

Optimus Prime later took Ark-32 to visit Omega Supreme in his deep-space asteroid home. Spotlight: Optimus Prime

The ship was returned to Earth after Prime and Omega's altercation with Monstructor. When Ark-19 was shot down in transit by Sixshot, Prime ordered all its data zipped and transmitted to Ark-32. Devastation #2 When Verity and Jimmy alerted the Autobots to an impending air strike by the US Air Force during their ground battle with Sixshot, the Autobots orbital bounced themselves and their human friends to the Ark-32. Unfortunately, the bounce proved too traumatic for Verity and Jimmy. Devastation #4 Ratchet managed to restart their hearts in the ship's infirmary, but everybody totally forgot about them after that. Devastation #5 After the attack on Garrus-9, the Ark-32 left Earth, leaving Hot Rod, Sunstreaker and humanity to the fate of the Decepticons. Devastation #6

In orbit around Garrus-9, Nightbeat poked around his scout ship in Ark-32's hangar and discovered the recordings he had made while he explored Gorlam Prime three years earlier, except he could not remember ever going there. He asked Hardhead to help him. Spotlight: Cyclonus

Sometime later, Ultra Magnus rendezvoused with the Ark-32 to report to Optimus Prime about the events on Earth while the latter was away. Elsewhere on the ship, Hunter O'Nion was reunited by Verity and Jimmy, while Sunstreaker was repaired and given a brand-new body by Ratchet. Maximum Dinobots #5

IDW loved this view of the ship so much they reused it six more times across six different issues.

• For some reason, the Ark-32 is very rarely depicted from the bow of the ship, with most of IDW's artists drawing the ship facing the reader sternward.
