At some point following Cybertron's restoration, Affluous forced Teknicus to build a device that would divide and segregate the Monsterbots, with Affluous' loyalists becoming "Energon Masters" and those he deemed unworthy being branded as "bugs". Becoming one such Energon Master, Coolus was a loyal subject of Affluous.

When Bumblebee arrived at the Energon Masters' city looking for Grimlock, Coolus, Hippus and Raddus rescued the Autobot from invading bug Stinkus. As they welcomed Bumblebee into their city, they explained their culture. Of course, Bumblebee was eventually appalled to see how Affluous was wasting energon in water fountain shows during his parties.

Soon afterwards, a group of bugs led by Repugnus had infiltrated the city with the help of Grimlock. As the Energon Masters battled Grimlock, Bumblebee arrived with those he freed from the dungeon and revealed that the Energon Masters were the same as the bugs. When Affluous rejected the notion, Teknicus revealed that Affluous forced him to build the machine that segregated the Monsterbots. When Bumblebee destroyed the machine, Coolus transformed into a beast mode similar to the bugs'. The Monsterbots' celebrated their reunion as a beast-mode Affluous fled in defeat. • Repugnus Revenge (Multi-pack, 2020)
Part of a Target-exclusive multipack under the cross-series "Cybertronian Villains" branding, this blue-colored Pesticon transforms from robot to bug-monster in a few short, simple steps. His robot-mode fists are compatible with 3 mm post accessories.
While the toy is not specifically branded as a Tiny Turbo Changer, it totally is one. Speaking of branding oddities, no, we don't know why the toy has a Decepticon symbol molded onto it.
This pack of Pesticons also included a small red Pesticon and green Pesticon, as well as a larger green "Repugnus".
