Waves Magazine is a publication that promotes 6G research and development accomplishments. The fifth edition offers informative articles and interviews with top researchers and innovators, along with commentary on the most pressing issues in 6G technology.

The University of Oulu has become the global leader in 6G research and development. 6G Flagship is the first of its kind. We're now looking for at least 40 new doctoral and postdoctoral researchers to join our team to conduct research in wireless connectivity, devices and circuit technology, distributed intelligence, and human-centric wireless services.

The highly anticipated annual list identifies researchers who demonstrated significant influence in their chosen field or fields by publishing multiple highly cited papers during the last decade.

Dr Tung D. Phan, a postdoctoral researcher at the Centre for Wireless Communications and 6G Flagship, has been awarded a 2022 IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society (AP-S) Fellowship. The Committee chose the applications that scored the highest based on proposal quality, advisor evaluations, and other pre-set metrics. 

This year the Taitaja stipend goes to Mehdi Bennis, Professor at the 6G Flagship at Oulu University and head of the ICON research group. The Taitaja stipend is a significant recognition of northern excellence, both financially and in terms of creating positive community spirit. It has been awarded by Oulun Osuuspankki annually since 2000. 

After several years of working together on a personal level with IMT Lucca’s Assistant Professor Simone Soderi, a University of Oulu alumnus, the University of Oulu’s Faculty of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering (ITEE) and IMT Lucca formalised their research collaboration with a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 31st October 2022.
