Greg Colbrunn is Back

He's back: Infielder Greg Colbrunn was activated from the 60-day DL prior to Wednesday's game.

The veteran had been on the DL since June 29 after undergoing surgery on his right wrist. He also missed 33 games from May 16-June 20 with problems with the wrist.

To make room for Colbrunn on the 40-man roster, the Diamondbacks transferred catcher Koyie Hill from the 15- to the 60-day DL.

Wrist watch

Utility infielder Greg Colbrunn suffered another setback in his quest to be cleared to play. His right wrist, which has undergone three surgeries in the past two years, still hasn't come around.

"He just doesn't feel like he's ready yet," Pedrique said. "The other day he was swinging the bat in the middle of the game, preparing as if he were going to pinch-hit, and he couldn't get it loose. That's a sign he's not ready."

There's still a good chance Colbrunn could be activated down the stretch.

Another step

Injured infielder Greg Colbrunn took batting practice Friday and plans on hitting Saturday and Sunday as well.

"It felt all right," said Colbrunn, who had surgery on his right wrist in July. "I really don't have a timetable (for a return). I'm not looking ahead."

Short hop

Utility infielder Greg Colbrunn, recovering from a troublesome right wrist, spent about 10 minutes taking early batting practice Tuesday and hopes to rejoin the club for the final month of the season.
