3D Strike Zone
?A terrific job by Eric!
This chart is pretty awesome too. The red line represents the chance that a pitch will be called a strike based on how much time it spent inside the 3D strike zone, if it STARTED at the front of the strike zone. The black line is if it did NOT start in the strike zone.
Now, the drop he notes at the point he notes is almost certainly because a pitch thrown to the corner doesn't have the opportunity to cover the whole 17 inches of the plate. Therefore, while what he did was technically correct, it would probably make more sense, for the chart purposes, to treat the plate as if it was a square, not a pentagon. At the very least, show the results based on that as well.
Anyway, great job!
