What does losing 5mph do?
?MGL Tweeted:
Haren was one of the best starters in baseball just a few years ago. Now he is arguably worse than average. That's what losing 5mph does
My counter-example: If Felix loses 5mph on ALL his pitches, he'll be Doug Fister. And Fister is a well-above-average pitcher.
Don't like that one? Ok, if Felix loses 5mph, he'll be Jered Weaver. And Weaver, at Felix's age, gave Felix a run for his money.
Felix's downside? If he loses 6mph on his hard stuff and 10mph on his soft stuff, he's Bronson Arroyo, your standard league average pitcher.
Felix may be the exception to the rule. I just don't know how solid this rule is.
