Today in phony outrage
This blogger thinks it's a bad idea to allow networks to superimpose ads to make it appear as if it's on the playing surface. I don't really care if they superimpose the ad behind the batter as they currently do, which is way more in-my-face than what's in the article.
And in any case, the NHL has had ads along the boards (which is in view the entire time, and given that the players actually make contact with the boards I would consider as part of the playing area) for as long as I can remember, and in many cases on the ice. I expect ads on hockey sweaters at some point, much like soccer players. Baseball will not be spared.
Nothing to see here, other than sanctimonious phony outrage.
