Puig: best start to a career?
?A writer suggested that Frank Thomas, Fred Lynn, and Johnny Mize are the ones in the running with Puig. The writer used the constraint of "first 365 calendar days", which would seem to knock out Mike Trout. If you made it "first 162 games", Trout is in the conversation.
But even so: Dick Allen.
Not to mention the obvious: Ted Williams. Frank Robinson. Albert Pujols. Any rookie in the top 5 in MVP really.
And of course, a rookie who actually won the MVP: Ichiro!
