Justin Bieber
Good ole Canadian boy, lifelong hockey fan, and noted enthusiast of muscle shirts and mop buckets did a major faux pas: he stepped on the Indian head logo in the Blackhawks dressing room. And there's visual proof.
In this corner:
When the Hawks do tours for the public, the crowd is explicitly noted to not step on the ?head, as a sign of respect. Players will deposit money if they happen to step on the head. The Hawks have the best uniform in sports, and they go out of their way to treat the Indian head with pride and respect. I'd like to think that Native peoples see it as an honor.
In the other corner:
Some in the media think otherwise, as many think it's just superstition and it's inconceivable that they could be asked not to walk right in the middle of a dressing room, thinking the logo should be on the wall instead.
Conclusion:
To his credit, Bieber reportedly immediately moved off the logo once he was told to. But given his other antics, he's like the boy who cried wolf, and even an innocent ignorant act is getting him blowback.
