Does the AL have smarter teams?
?According to information collected by the sublime Cot's Contracts, the AL has 1.72 billion$ in contracts, while the NL has 1.73 billion$. That's spectacularly close, a draw really.
According to information collected by the sublime Baseball Reference, the AL is once again dominating inter-conference play, with a .549 win% after 195 games. This is surprising because the Astros moving from NL to AL helped restore some of the balance of power (.513 win% in 2013, after being .556 from 2005-2012). But now things have shifted back again to the AL.
Is this a blip, or are the AL teams (as a group) smarter on how they spend their money?
