Biogenesis not bound by JDA
Well, this is pretty interesting, attributing a quote to the head of the MLBPA:
Players involved in Biogenesis not bound by drug agreement and could get 5 game suspensions or even 500 games.
So, it seems that MLB is going to rely on something other than the Joint Drug Agreement in order to suspend players regarding drug-related offenses. There are many reasons a player can get suspended outside of the JDA. The most obvious are on-field altercations, like in any other sport. And the obvious off-field events would be something like gambling. So, it will be interesting to see how much latitude MLB has, and what MLBPA will agree or disagree with.
