Next subject: for any of those who remember... when I first bought my house, the only two walls that were painted anything other than the initial paint - were the walls in one of the downstair front rooms. One was a deep red and the other wall parallel to it was black... Why?! Good question... Anyway - for the past several months, I was sceaming behind my husbands back trying to decide on a the color to change that room. He kept bringing home sample colors and such because he was determined that I had NO decorative sense other than putting holes in the walls for pictures! Seriously - that is exactly what he told one of his sisters... :) Anyway - so a week or so ago, he wouldn't leave for work early enough!!! Because he was going to be working really late that evening, he wanted to spend the morning with LJ and I - so instead of leaving for work at 7 am - he didn't end up leaving until after 9 am! But as soon as I heard his truck driving away, I ran upstairs - put on the painting clothes - and we went to work! I should have gotten a better "before" picture - but I didn't really think about it too much - so oh well.
My little helper was quite pleased when the first wall was done...
I had also decided to take the couch we had upstairs and bring it downstairs for this room. And move the big bean bags upstairs for proper child entertainment!
For my birthday this year, Matt (even though I know he had been talking for almost a year how cool it would be to get one of these) decided to get me this timeline of the Book Of Mormon - so it went perfectly on this wall!

Girl's getaway & Surviving Black Friday!
My friend, Becky, and I are teased about the fact that our Girls' Getaway should've actually be my Honeymoon... But that's what happens when plane tickets and hotel reservations are made 8 months ahead of time, and a wedding is planned with only 1 1/2 months warning! So it turned out that only 5 days after I married Matt, I left for California for 5 days/4 nights of fun with Becky - for a much needed break and getaway! And so when Matt and I had made plans to go up to McCall throughout October and November at the condo for some weekends for our family, and Matt ended up having to work over one of those weekends, Becky gladly stepped in and said she would come up with LJ and myself for the weekend! A mutual friend of ours heard about this change in plans - and made the comment that it was "our" anniversary weekend! I totally loved this thought! So needless to say, we are going to try and make it an annual trip! And since the first year was some place warm, the second was some place cold - we have determined that the third year needs to be some place warm again!!! Here are a couple of pictures from our 2nd year trip...

For Thanksgiving this year, my family - along with my parents and brother/his wife - joined my oldest sister up in Coeur d'Alene to celebrate the holiday! Jonathan and I were able to spend the entire week up there and was thankful because we ended up being needed to assist with transportation as my sister's vehicles were acting all challenged! So good thing we decided to come up early! The morning that Matt was scheduled to fly up and join us, LJ decided to keep me on my toes and allowed me to experience his first concussion! We were staying at the condo up near Coeur d'Alene headed over to my sister's house for the day, when he took the first steps out of the elevator into the parking garage (if it weren't him, it likely would've been me...) his feet came right out from underneath him - and he smacked his head straight on the concrete. It was that sickening thud... Pretty scary - especially since I couldn't even try to catch him, it happened so fast. He immediately started screaming, and as I placed my hand underneath his head (totally expecting blood from his head being cracked open) I was surprised to feel nothing! However, as soon as he stood upright, the blood came gushing out of his nose... Yup - he jarred himself THAT hard. I scooped him up - and got him over to the car so I could grab something to help clean up... It took me just over 6 1/2 minutes to get the bleeding stopped from his nose - and then a couple more minutes to keep him calm enough to get buckled. The 30 minute drive into the nearest Urgent Care was interesting. He was very lethargic and sleepy - but since Matt wasn't flying into town till that afternoon - I was on my own. I kept him awake by asking him to point out things along the drive. When we arrived and the doctor came into the room - he decided to state to the doctor himself "I broke my head" - which of course brought a little laugh and smiles from the doctor. But luckily, he became alert enough that we didn't need to stay long at the ER (they sent us there since they do not do CT scans at Urgent Cares) and we headed over to my sister's house, finally! This kid really likes to keep Matt and I are our toes - but who would expect anything else from a child of MINE!!!! :)
So onto a more entertaining story... My sister and I decided that we were going to try out for the first time Black Friday shopping... We mapped out all that we thought we could handle - and off we went! The first store we went to was Target (opened at midnight). We got to the store at 11:30 - and OMG - the line went down the length of the store and wrapped nearly the entire parking lot! The front "store bouncers" told the crowd in front that they would be allowed in AFTER the line was gone... Needless to say, we didn't want to just stand there and wait - so we went and go in line! By the time we actually made it to the door and inside - the people who were in front of us when we first showed up - were still standing right there.... and the line as continued to grow quite a ways even behind us!
Anyway - we got some good deals, we missed out on a few things we wanted - but overall... not terribly bad! We survived!!!

Another end of Volleyball and Good times in McCall!
As volleyball season came to a close, I realized that there are some amazing girls that I just love getting to know! Here is one of my girls that got moved up to another team part-way through our own season. I missed her - but she did great things on the other team!

Here is my 2011 team as we are heading into our District Tournament!!! These girls definitely keep life entertaining!

Here are a couple of mid-game coaching pictures that were taking by different people, but I still wanted to share them both!

Oh my darling Tiffany.... You find every opportunity to smile to the world! I love this picture - even if I am not really paying attention to the camera...

Tailor.... How can I explain to anyone else that doesn't know you why this picture is perfect?!?!?! She was one of my freshman players from last year, and this year - she was moved up to Varsity!!! Way to go girl!!! Crazy and all... You are perfect - especially when you are right next to Tiffany! The short with the tall!!! Love IT!

Hailey and I helping the girls get ready for a home match, while the head coach, Cathy Curtis is getting the roster and line-up turned in! I loved being able to help out and sit on the bench for the Varsity games after my season ended!

One of my dear friends, Leah, finally had her baby. It was a girl - her second child, but first girl.... Jonathan LOVED seeing the new baby, Kamea, and insisted on getting to hold her too...

I love getting away from Boise and spending time up in McCall... It makes it even better when we get to take friends along with us too! Lindsey and her son, Jadin, were able to go up with my family. Lindsey and I played against each other in high school, and we just stayed friends as we grew up! Our sons are close in age to one another and it is fun to watch them play.
Here is Jonathan all ready for the drive up to McCall.... Safety First!

And yet... he didn't quite make it all the way up before falling asleep with his ear protection on...

We spent Saturday taking a walk, climbing on rocks (and jumping off, of course), and finding cool things to crawl into - or at least the boys convinced Matt to crawl in with...

My little Halloween boy just could not wait to get his costume on!!! He was so excited and we had to keep telling him to wait for Halloween night! So I better wrap up this blog post and take the boy out to gather some candy!!! Happy Halloween!!!!
