Baseball is finally here

2010 Topps Chrome #210

The Orioles start Spring Training play on Monday with a game against the Pittsburgh Pirates. Oriole fans are placing high hopes on Brian to have a breakout season this year. In 2010 he finished 10-12 with a 4.30 ERA and 143 strike outs. What the stats don't show was his mid season turn around. After the All star break, Brain went 7-3 with a 3.63 ERA. These are the numbers Brian can hopefully build on and become a number one starter in The Orioles rotation, a commodity the Orioles have not had since Mike Mussina left the team.

Card of the Week

The card for this week is a new acquisition to my pc. I was fortunate enough to land this card from the 2011 Topps jumbo case break held by a cardboard problem. This card is not something I would normally go chase after but I am happy to add it to my collection.

I know many people don't like these manufactured cards, but I really don't mind them, especially the ones of my favorite team. I give Topps some credit for trying something new even if the execution is a little off, though the card does look better in person.

On the playing field, I'm hoping Nick has a much better season in 2011 with Vlad Guerrero protecting him in the lineup.

Topps Diamond

The Topps Diamond Giveaway site is live today and I decided to give it a try and redeem one of my codes. As you can see above I'm not off to a very good start. I had much better luck with the Million Card Giveaway. I think I'll hold on to the rest of my codes for awhile. I have'nt even attempted the dig feature yet as I have read other bloggers were having trouble with this feature. I read somewhere today the site doesn't allow trading until april, hopefully then I can trade away Bob Wickman for a Oriole or another card I need.

Welcome

I have started this blog as a way to post my want and trade lists with fellow bloggers and other collectors who read card related blogs. I am Baltimore Orioles fan whose first pack of baseball cards was the 1987 Topps set. I continued to collect until late in high school when my interests slowely took me away from cards. Afterwards I picked up a few packs here and there but did not get back into collecting again until 2009.

Since I have returned to the hobby I have narrowed my collection and focus on collecting the Baltimore Orioles, and Cal Ripken. I also build sets and collect oddball issues from food products or retail stores that no longer exist.

The idea of creating this blog is more to expand my trading capabilities with other collectors, but I will also post occasional pack breaks, hobby news and any other piece of information I find Interesting. So please take some time and look at my want lists and what I have to trade. My lists will be updated regularly and I will continually expand my have to trade list.

You will be able to find my email in my profile. Feel free to email me any trade proposals. Thanks for visiting.
