Creating an international research team: lessons from the North American digital government working group

Abstract

This panel focuses on the lessons learned by the members of the Working Group on Comparative and Transnational Digital Government in North America. This group was formed in 2007 to advance electronic government research across geographic and political boundaries in the region, with the support of the National Science Foundation Digital Government Research Program and the home institutions of the members in Canada, Mexico, and the United States. Panelists will share insights from the formation and operational experiences of the group in particular is it relates to creating a multinational research collaborative, developing culturally sensitive research design strategies, and developing research grant proposals in a multi-national context with a multi-national research team.
