The 2005 Masters Tournament was the 69th Masters Tournament, played from April 7–10 at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia. Tiger Woods, 29, won his fourth green jacket on the first hole of a playoff with Chris DiMarco. Rain was a factor the whole week, and delayed much of the play. The purse was $7.0 million with a winner's share of $1.26 million. It was the ninth of Woods' fifteen major championships. This Masters was the last as competitors for three former champions: Tommy Aaron (1973), Billy Casper (1970), and six-time winner Jack Nicklaus.
