- The table below lists many of the tunnels under the River Thames in and near London, which, thanks largely to its underlying bed of clay, is one of the most tunnelled cities in the world. The tunnels are used for road vehicles, pedestrians, Tube and railway lines and utilities. Several tunnels are over a century old: the original Thames Tunnel was the world's first underwater tunnel. - Er zijn relatief veel tunnels onder de Theems in en nabij Londen. Dit komt door de grote bevolkingsdichtheid, de noodzaak om de rivier bevaarbaar te houden en de aanwezige dikke kleilaag die de aanleg mogelijk maakt.De tunnels worden gebruikt voor motorvoertuigen, voetgangers, metro, spoorlijnen en kabels en leidingen. De oudste tunnel is de Thames Tunnel, die geopend is in 1843. Dit was de eerste tunnel onder een bevaarbare rivier en is nog steeds in gebruik. De tunnels van oost (benedenstrooms) naar west (bovenstrooms): 1.

Questi vengono utilizzati da veicoli stradali, pedoni, dalla metropolitana, dalle linee ferroviarie e dai servizi pubblici. Svariate gallerie sono state scavate più di un secolo fa: l'originale Thames Tunnel è stata la prima galleria subacquea del mondo. (it)
