The shipyard is located in Pipavav, Gujarat, at a distance of 90 km South of Amreli, 15 km South of Rajula and 140 km South West of Bhavnagar. R-Naval is the first private sector company in India to obtain a license and contract to build warships. Piavav is the largest shipyard in India. Reliance Naval and Engineering Limited is under Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process as per the provisions of the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code w.e.f. January 15, 2020. Its affairs, business and assets are being managed by Mr. Sudip Bhattacharya, Resolution Professional, appointed by NCLT Ahmadabad bench by order dated May 5, 2020. (en)
