The target group is primarily girls aged around four to seven years. Filly has been the topic of copyright infringement lawsuits between the companies Hasbro and Simba Dickie Group, for infringing on designs of Hasbro's My Little Pony toyline. In has also been the topic of lawsuits between the Dracco Company and Simba Dickie Group, over toy sales without paying license fees. A 2011 study found that Filly figures had a higher content of harmful ingredients. A 2013 study found figures that contained residues of cadmium. (en)
