The Bundesvision Song Contest 2011 was the seventh edition of the annual Bundesvision Song Contest musical event. The contest was held on 29 September 2011 at the Lanxess Arena in Cologne, North Rhine-Westphalia, following Unheilig's win in the 2010 contest in Berlin with the song "Unter deiner Flagge". This was the second time that North Rhine-Westphalia had hosted the contest, after previously hosting in the first contest Oberhausen in 2005. Other returning artists includeJennifer Rostock from 2008; again for Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, and Anna Loos representing Lower Saxony; who competed in the band Silly in 2010 for Saxony-Anhalt. 13 of the 16 states awarded themselves the maximum of 12 points, with Brandenburg, Saarland, and Schleswig-Holstein awarding themselves 10, 10, and 3 points respectively. Il concorso si è articolato in un'unica finale, condotta da Stefan Raab, , Lena Meyer-Landrut (come inviata nella green room) ed responsabile del fan block in diretta tra il pubblico. Il vincitore della manifestazione fu Tim Bendzko con la canzone , in rappresentanza di Berlino, portando così al länder la sua terza ed ultima vittoria. In questa edizione ci furono molti ritorni: i Juli per l'Assia (vincitori dell'edizione 2005), i Jennifer Rostock, che rappresentarono il Meclemburgo-Pomerania Anteriore nel 2008 e Anna Loos, che ha rappresentato la Bassa Sassonia, sia come solista sia come membro dei Silly.
