In 2014, after more than a decade of work, he completed Music of Survival: The Story of the Ukrainian Bandurist Chorus, a documentary tracing the history of the musical instrument known as the bandura and the harrowing journey of the Ukrainian Bandurist Chorus that survived WWII as a musical ensemble. The film brings out the deepest roots of this fragile tradition, celebrating the resiliency of a music culture that has survived centuries. Music of Survival serves as a testament to the enduring power of art and the human spirit, even in the face of the greatest of horrors and reveals how a song can be more powerful than an act of war.
