- MoonLIGHT, también conocida como Lunar Laser Ranging Retroreflector Array for the 21st Century (LLRRA-21), es un retrorreflector láser que se desplegará cerca del polo sur de la Luna. Está previsto que el reflector sea lanzado en 2020 como carga secundaria del módulo de aterrizaje lunar MX-1E construido por la empresa privada . El experimento de medición láser se desarrolló a partir de la colaboración entre la Universidad de Maryland en los Estados Unidos, y los para complementar y ampliar el experimento Laser Ranging Retro-Reflector iniciado con el Programa Apolo en 1969. - MoonLIGHT, also called Lunar Laser Ranging Retroreflector Array for the 21st Century (LLRRA-21), is a laser retroreflector to be deployed near the lunar south pole region. The reflector was planned to be launched in July 2020 as a secondary payload on the MX-1E lunar lander built by the private company Moon Express. However, as of February 2020, the launch of the MX-1E has been canceled. The fate of MoonLIGHT is unknown. The laser-ranging experiment was developed as a collaboration primarily between the University of Maryland in the United States, and the Italian National Laboratories of Frascati to complement and expand on the Lunar Laser Ranging experiment started with the Apollo Program in 1969.
