This website provides basic information and links in the context of WGClimate’s ECV inventory and related activities. It is currently operated by EUMETSAT and you can contact the people responsible for the website via https://climatemonitoring.info/contact/ If the response is not satisfactory, EUMETSAT’s data protection officer can be contacted via https://www.eumetsat.int/website/home/ContactUs/index.html
What personal data we collect and why we collect it
Cookies
The website uses WordPress and thus has the normal set of technical cookies to manage sessions and identify whether you’ve read the cookie policy.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
Please note that cookies are stored on your computer – you can delete these yourself at any time.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website. Notably, the ECV inventory itself is embedded content.

Analytics
We use slimstat, which sets an anonymous tracking cookie purely for this site. The cookie expires in 30 minutes and contains no personal information.
Logging
The webservers operating this WordPress and the ECV inventory may retain connection details (such as IP address) and any details freely offered by your browser (such as browser type / user agent) for auditing and statistical purposes for some period. Typically this is a month.
Who we share your data with
No personal data are shared with anyone. In the event that a legal case or internal security investigation requires information, we may be obliged to share the limited information listed above.
How long we retain your data
Each item listed above includes a time period.
What rights you have over your data
You can request that we delete all data we have pertaining to you and we must comply within one month. Please note that only extremely limited data are collected and these are normally deleted within a month anyway. Nonetheless, if you have a deletion request, please contact us with the necessary information to allow us to identify the records to be deleted (e.g. your IP, so we can delete any log entries relating to it).
