Sequia, King's Canyon, Yosemite in April

We have some time off at the end of April and were wondering what the conditions would be like for our first visit to Sequoia National Park, King's Canyon, and Yosemite? Can we drive to see the things we should see? Will camping in a camper van be OK for two Minnesotans? Anything else you just need to tell us?

Newbies Visit Yosemite in November

We’re driving a 2WD Honda Element and a 20-lb dog. We're new to winter car travel in Yosemite and the Sierra Nevada. We’re planning day visits and hikes only, no camping in the park, November 8-12, 2021. The Park Service website has lots of information. So much. I’m continuing to research and attempt to filter it down to fit our plans and aspirations, but it’s time to ask the Wise Ones. [more inside]

Mysterious MacBook temporary spinning ball when attaching to email

I have a late 2013 MacBook Pro Retina which I recently upgraded to Yosemite. Ever since, when I'm trying to attach a file to an email (Gmail), when I try to click on the file in the finder window that opens, I get a spinning ball for about 8 seconds. Then it stops for a second or two, spins another second or two, and stops. I am then able to attach the file. This does not happen every time — sometimes (maybe one out of three tries) the attaching works correctly without hesitation. [more inside]

2011 Mac Mini DIY fusion drive issues...help please

The stock drive on my mid 2011 mac mini, model 5,2, recently became a brick. So, I got the idea I would create a fusion drive using a 120gb SSD and 1tb HDD. When I start the machine in (command+R) recovery mode, the SSD and HDD appear as separate drives. I had been expecting for disk utility to list the drives in RED with the option to "fix". How to bring active window to foreground in OS X?

I just got my new MacBook Pro and I want to get to work, but I cannot figure out why active windows remain in the background. Clicking on an inactive window doesn't bring it to the foreground. If I want to actually see what's in the active window, I have to minimize the inactive window that's on top. I've looked at different settings but I don't see how to change this. How Do I Stop Text Messages Occurring on My Mac?

I recently upgraded my MacBook Air to Yosemite. Everything seems to be fine, except for the fact that my iPhones text messages now happen on my computer (I think this is the continuity feature?). Anyway, I want this to stop. Of course, I Googled it before I posted, here, but the fixes that I found, don't appear to be relevant (they were from 2014 and probably from Mavericks). For example, one fix suggested opening the Messages app on your Mac (which I did) and open the Preferences menu, which I don't see. Can anyone help me stop this?? Thanks!
